In this video, Scott Hansen of the DellTechCenter demonstrates exactly how VMware High Availability (VMHA) kicks in to prevent downtime in the event of an uplanned outage. My favoriite part is when they actually pull the blade server from the rack to make the server go down.

Video- How to enable High Availablity (HA) with VMware Server

In this video, created by InformedCIO, you are shown how to take the free VMware Server and configure High Availability (HA) with it. Essentially, what Paul Shearer demonstrates is how to use Microsoft Clustering Services (MSCS) with the free VMware Server to “fail over” a virtual guest OS to another Windows cluster node. This isn’t really automatic clustering but, with some scripting, it could be configured as such.
